MMU Wins Industry Award for Airport Project of the Year 2383 2560 Morristown Airport

Morristown Airport was presented with the “2022 Airport Project of the Year Award” at the Annual American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE); Northeast Chapter (NEC) Airports Conference. The award was given “in recognition of Morristown Airport’s creative approach, safe implementation and environmental stewardship contributing to outstanding stakeholder satisfaction,” in regards to the airport’s Runway 5-23 Rehabilitation Project.

This award was given for efforts in 2021 during Runway 5-23; Phase II, Stage “B” construction. Morristown Airport is in the process of a multi-year, rehabilitation project for Runway 5-23. The multi-year project will result in a newly-paved surface, enhanced runway safety areas, a new lighting system to assists pilots upon arrivals, and more. Morristown Airport is set to resume construction in May 2022 with Phase II, Stage “C” construction.

These awards are presented to an airport, Architectural firm that is currently represented within the Chapter. Award will be given to one Airfield Project, Architectural Project and one Campus related project. Candidates may be nominated for more than one award and more than one award winner may be recognized in each category. (Award to be given to both the airport and the consultant)

Airfield Project of the year – These awards are presented to an airport and consulting firm that is currently represented within the Chapter. Candidates may be nominated for more than one award and more than one award winner may be recognized in each category. The project and be singular, multiple or any combination of projects that resulted in improved efficiency, safety of facility enhancement. (Award to be given to both the airport and the consultant)
