Noise Abatement Procdeures
Presently, aircraft are not subject to mandatory noise restrictions; aircraft noise abatement relies primarily upon the education and cooperation of airport users. The airport has established voluntary noise abatement procedures which can be viewed and downloaded below. Please make every effort to be a good neighbor when using our airport and follow airport noise abatement procedures, aircraft manufacturers’ recommended noise abatement procedures, and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) noise procedures whenever possible. Thank you for your consideration.
*The following procedures are for VFR arrivals and departures. In no case do these procedures exempt or take the place of air traffic control instructions or safety*
Traffic Pattern Altitudes
Aircraft weighing 12,500 pounds or less -1200′MSL
Aircraft weighing greater than 12,500 pounds -1700′MSL
Closed Traffic Operations
No closed traffic operations or practice instrument approaches on any runway between the hours of 10:00 pm and 8:30am.
No touch and go operations or low approaches for military, turboprop, or turbojet aircraft at anytime.
Night Departures
All Stage I aircraft departing from Morristown Municipal Airport between the hours of 11:00pm and 6:45am will be subject to a $350.00 departure fee. This fee is implemented to reduce the impact of aircraft noise on the surrounding communities during night hours.
