The final phase of the Runway 5-23 Keel Repair Project has been progressing as scheduled. To date we have grooved approximately 90% of the keel section on Runway 23. Tonight, we are anticipating completing grooving work in the runway intersection and in the test strip area on Runway 13/31. We are also going to begin painting the markings on Runway 5/23 and 13/31.
However, with the inclement weather forecast for this weekend, there is a possibility that we may need to cancel some of the painting work on 5/23 and 13/31 and extend the nightly runway closures to accommodate that work into the end of next week. We anticipate being able to make a decision after tonight’s work and will continue to keep you updated.
As of right now, the construction schedule is below:

Morristown Airport will be closed to fixed-wing traffic 2200L-0600L daily from 2200L Thursday, July 20th through 0600L Tuesday, July 25th

Runway 5-23 will be closed 2200L-0600L daily from 2200L Tuesday, July 25th through 0600L Thursday, July 27th
